Geeking Out

So I’ve been having a major geek fest with Battlestar Galactica, the reimagined TV series. I must say I was very skeptical at first, being a huge fan of the original series. (I had a huge little girl crush on Apollo, that has extended quite nicely to a huge adult woman crush on the new Apollo). And when I found out that Starbuck was a man. What?! But it totally works. I love it. I had to watch the miniseries for a sci-fi class and was totally hooked.

In this world they explore religion in such a fascinating way: the humans are pagan polytheists and the cylons are monotheists. Politics, terrorism, genocide, relationships, ect… everything is here for your enjoyment.

We’ve watched season 1 thru Netflix and I’m going to give myself a breather before we start season 2. Season 3 ends this week on the sci fi channel, and I’ve learned that they’ve been renewed for season 4. I wish we had cable.

I do love sci fi. I can’t write it though. Well, I’ve never actually tried to. I guess I’m just intimidated.

Now, you’ll know I’ve really gone off the deep end if you hear me using “frak” in my vocabulary!
